⚙️ Configure the database

This page is ready to store accounts and predictions in a real, shared database (Firebase Firestore), but first it needs to be connected — it takes about 5 minutes and is completely free.

1. Go to console.firebase.google.com and create a new project (any name).
2. In the project menu select Firestore Database → "Create database" → test mode.
3. Go to project settings (⚙️ icon) → "Your apps" → add a web app (</> icon).
4. Copy the firebaseConfig object shown there.
5. Paste it into this page's code where you see const firebaseConfig = { ... }, replacing the placeholder values with yours.
6. Save the file and refresh the page.

Firestore test mode means open access rules — anyone who knows the config could read or modify data. This is fine for a friendly prediction game among friends, but not suitable for anything confidential. After 30 days test rules expire — you'll need to extend them manually or set your own rules in the Firebase console.
